Do you offer a trial lesson?

Yes. I offer a free 30-minute introductory guitar lesson for all new students.

This is a great opportunity to discuss your goals, try a lesson, and see if my teaching style is the right fit for you before committing to regular lessons.

Can beginners join your lessons?

Absolutely. My guitar lessons are tailored to your skill level, whether you’re a complete beginner or an intermediate player looking to develop your skills further.

How often do I need to take lessons?

It’s completely up to you. I offer weekly, fortnightly, or monthly guitar lessons, allowing you to choose a schedule that suits you.

What styles of music do you teach?

I teach a variety of styles including:

• Rock

• Pop

• Blues

• Indie

• Acoustic styles

Lessons are always customised around the music you enjoy and the goals you want to achieve.

What do I need to bring to my first lesson?

Just bring yourself and your guitar if you have one.

If you don’t have a guitar yet, that’s absolutely fine — I have one available for you to use during the lesson.

Where are you located?

I teach from my dedicated teaching studio in Newton Longville, Milton Keynes, which is easily accessible by car or public transport.

Do you teach online lessons?

Yes. I offer online guitar lessons via Google Meet, which are ideal for students who prefer learning from home or live outside the Milton Keynes area.

How do students practise between lessons?

Every student receives access to a dedicated Google Drive learning folder.

Inside they’ll find helpful learning resources including:

• Chord charts

• Scale diagrams

• Guitar learning posters

• Riff tablature

• Practice guides

• Gear recommendations

Students also receive a personalised practice document that outlines exactly what to practise between lessons. This includes structured routines, helpful learning links, and progress tracking such as songs learned and chords mastered.

This system helps students stay organised and continue improving between lessons.

Do you offer guitar exams?

Yes. KB Guitar Lessons is an Official Registered Exam Centre for Trinity College London, which allows students to record and submit their graded exams directly from the studio.

Students currently hold a 100% pass rate in Trinity Rock & Pop exams.

However, graded exams are completely optional, and many students simply enjoy learning songs and improving their playing without taking exams.

Do you offer group lessons?

At the moment, I focus primarily on 1-to-1 guitar lessons so that each student receives personalised attention and can progress at their own pace.

However, feel free to ask — depending on availability, I may be able to accommodate small group lessons.

Do you offer any additional services?

Yes. Alongside guitar lessons, I also offer:

• Guitar restringing and setup services

• Recording opportunities during lessons

• Basic music production guidance

Students can even use lesson time to record the pieces they’ve learned in a high-quality studio environment.

What DAW software do you use?

I use Logic Pro for recording and teaching sessions.

It’s a professional-grade digital audio workstation used for multitrack recording, editing, and mixing. Students interested in music production can also learn the basics during lessons.

Do you teach students with special needs?

Yes. I have experience working in SEN (Special Educational Needs) schools, where I’ve successfully taught guitar to students with a range of needs.

Learning an instrument can provide many benefits, including improved focus, confidence, emotional expression, and a sense of achievement. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students of all abilities can enjoy learning music.

Are you DBS-checked?

Yes. I am fully DBS-checked, and my teaching studio is equipped with CCTV to help maintain a safe and secure learning environment.

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay during lessons if they wish.

Can parents or guardians attend lessons?

Yes, absolutely. Parents or guardians are welcome to stay and observe the lesson if they would like.
